Spanish

As you probably found out by reading my About Me page, my passion is connecting cultures.

More specifically, I want to connect the Spanish (Latino) and English cultures here in Southern California.

I recently graduated in January 2013 with my BA in Spanish from California State University, Fullerton.

Formally, I have studied Spanish for 6 years, both in high school and all my semesters here at college. However, I also have almost 3 years of informal, daily, colloquial use of Spanish. I watch Spanish television and listen to the radio in Spanish regularly. I also have had experience with Spanish literature, including the Bible. With a well-rounded exposure to the language, I am familiar with different registers and can translate accordingly.

As stated in my resumé, I was a Spanish tutor for several students from March 2012 to June 2012. I tailored lesson plans according to language needs, ranging from Beginning to Advanced Placement. I improvised skits and conversations to reinforce grammar and vocabulary, and the students showed an improvement over the semester in their Spanish ability.

I live, eat, think, breathe, and do almost everything in Spanish. If you'd like, take a look at the translation of this page here.
